Annual Black Quarter vaccines are administered from the helicopter to try and prevent mortalities in Giraffe and Buffalo. Giraffe are also highly susceptible to Botulism, with as many animals as possible needing to be vaccinated in an area when an outbreak occurs. During outbreaks of Anthrax it is common to vaccinate random animals form a population as well as all valuable game species. Each animal is darted with a drop-out dart fired from the left or right side of the helicopter. The pilot keeps track of which animals have not been vaccinated.
