Bassair has for many years had the pleasure of providing a helicopter service to leading wildlife vets throughout Southern Africa. We currently work in close cooperation with Dr Charlotte Moueix of CVet Wildlife Veterinary Services.

Charlotte has pursued her life long dream of working with wildlife. Having gained hands-on experience with species such as elephant, rhino and buffalo from some of the country’s leading vets, she now runs her own successful wildlife veterinary practice, CVet, specialising in chemical immobilization of all game species including large carnivores, plains game and rare game species. Charlotte has acted as data capturer for Bassair since 2005 and has extensive game counting experience.



Specialized country-wide veterinary services include:

  • Chemical capture of all game species.

  • Rhino and elephant profiling and identikits.

  • Rhino ear notching and micro-chipping.

  • Elephant population management.

  • Fitting of telemetry collars to elephant, antelope and predators.

  • 24 hour standby for wildlife emergencies.

  • Herd vaccination.

  • Routine surgery and Clinical diagnosis.

Charlotte Moueix

Dr Charlotte Moueix studied in France where she obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Science at the National Veterinary School of Maisons-Alfort, Paris. After completing her Masters Degree on Wild Dog genetics (with Distinction) through the Wildlife Unit of Onderstepoort, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences in Pretoria, she proceeded to pass the South African Veterinary Council Board exam allowing her to practice in Southern Africa.
